  • Maps: three asylum floor plans in .TIF format by Stephanie McAlea, repeated in both grey scale and colour:
    • Arkham Sanitarium (location): The file is named "Arkham Asylum", but the map is labeled for the Classic Era Lovecraft Country Arkham Sanitarium (location).
    • Cathedral Hill Aylum: a Victorian Kirkbride asylum plan only used for Victorian-era mental hospitals, but was very popular in its time, so it could no doubt be easily re-used for any of a number of similar Victorian-era mental asylums (Danvers State Hospital asylum in Massachusetts used the same plan, for example).
    • Oakmore Asylum: appears to be a 20th Century (possibly Modern?) design, which might also serve as a fair improvised 20th Century prison floorplan, in a pinch.
  • Maps: A bonus PDF containing three more floor-plans, uncredited, as black-and-white line drawings, not mentioned in the product description (these were apparently copies of cartography from the old (1995) supplement "Taint of Madness"):
    • Arkham Sanitarium (location): plan appears to be essentially a stripped-down, no-nonsense version of the greyscale/color McAlea design.
    • Bethlehem Royal Hospital (Bedlam): the real-life Sidney Smirke ca. 1800-1930 design for Bethlehem Royal Hospital in London, UK; a more elaborate, original architectural floor-plan can be found here (link). See Bedlam (1946 film).
    • Belleview Hospital: the 17th-22nd floors of what is apparently the NY hospital's most recent incarnation as a few of the floors in the shared 1973 "Cube" building, where Belleview apparently moved in the 1970s and which, by all accounts, has become one of the more modern and respected mental hospitals in the country after a century of bad reputation in its original building. This is a modern mental hospital floor plan for the real-life New York hospital.

Comments / Trivia

  • A print version of this product was originally proposed as a "stretch goal" for the troubled 7th Edition Kickstarter, but deleted when it became clear that Chaosium could not afford to deliver this and other extras.
  • A bonus PDF containing three more floor-plans, uncredited, as black-and-white line drawings, is not mentioned in the product description; these were apparently copies of cartography from the old (1995) supplement "Taint of Madness".
  • One of the three McAlea maps is labeled Arkham Asylum (the name of the institution from Batman's Gotham City), but is actually Arkham Sanitarium (location), which also appeared in the Taint of Madness map PDF.
  • Numerous similar products have been released over the years containing forms, certificates, inkblots, and such, including:
